When some people think of working for Amazon, they picture long days running around a fulfillment center or hauling packages in a delivery truck. But you don’t need a uniform or a long commute to work for the company — you can work in a remote job without leaving your house! Work Online as an Amazon Customer Support Associate
A lot of the people who work online end up working Amazon customer service jobs. Not only is it an entry-level position, but it’s also one of the easiest ways to get your foot in the door.
During the day, you’ll spend most of your time answering the phone or responding to emails to solve customer issues. If you’ve ever called about an Amazon package that got lost or damaged in the mail, you probably talked to a customer support associate.
Although you don’t have to leave your house to do your work, customer support associates still have a set schedule and a manager or supervisor that they’ve got to report to. However, since someone’s always manning the phones, you may have the opportunity to customize your schedule. For example, if you need to work the graveyard shift rather than during the day, you could arrange that.
Keep in mind that a lot of customer support associates start off as part-time or seasonal workers. During the holiday season, Amazon usually has plenty of open positions to help manage the increased demand of holiday shopping.
Once the excitement is over (and unwanted gifts have been returned), some of these remote workers will leave, but Amazon may keep some of them around, too. If you prove that you can work the hours you’re supposed to and handle the tasks they give you, you could turn this into a full-time home job.
Of course, the gig comes with a few upsides and downsides. While you may get to work in your PJs and have some flexibility over your schedule, you will probably be dealing with disgruntled customers all day. But, if you can get used to that, becoming a customer support associate is one of the easiest ways to work for Amazon online. Once you’ve been there long enough, you may be able to move up the hierarchy and become a manager or a senior representative.

Amazon doesn’t officially list salaries online, but some estimates have put the hourly rate at anywhere between $12 to $14 for anyone just starting out. Once you’ve been working long enough, you may have the opportunity to earn bonuses or increase that hourly rate.
What Are the Benefits?
The remote work may be great, but most people still need a job that comes with benefits. Fortunately, customer support associates have the opportunity to get healthcare, a retirement plan, vacation time, paid time off, and even unpaid time — if they work enough.
All Amazon employees, including customer service associates, are eligible to begin receiving benefits if they work more than 20 hours per week. While this is usually good news for full-time and part-time employees, seasonal workers may not always be eligible. Officially, Amazon only guarantees its seasonal workers up to 18 hours per week.
This may leave you out of the running at first, but if you come on during the holiday season, you could end up working overtime or picking up more shifts.
What Qualifications Do You Need?
There aren’t a ton of qualifications to become a customer support associate. For their mandatory requirements, Amazon does ask that you have at least a high school diploma, you speak English fluently or almost fluently, you’re over eighteen, you’ve got a high-speed internet connection, and that you live in the area where the listing is at.

Although you won’t be commuting to an office, Amazon still has location requirements. These are spread across the globe – from the United States all the way to Costa Rica or Australia. If you’re interested in becoming a customer support associate, but there’s not a listing near you, check back later-these jobs pop up fast, but they also get snatched quickly, too.
As far as “soft” requirements go, you’ll need all the skills you’d need for any customer service job: basic familiarity with computers, good time management skills, and plenty of patience.
Work for Amazon Online as a Seller Partner Support Associate
Many people are familiar with customer support associates, but Amazon buyers aren’t the only ones in need of help — merchants selling on Amazon may need support, too. Seller support associates work remotely and online, much like customer support employees do.
When a merchant selling on Amazon has a problem-whether it be a system issue or late deliveries, it’s up to the seller support associate to resolve it. Maintaining these business relationships is a huge part of working in this position.
This remote position often starts off as contract or part-time online Amazon job, which may last for six months or a year. However, if you demonstrate that you can do the job well, Amazon will likely renew the contract.
Like customer support associates, these jobs are usually busiest during the holiday season when merchants are making a lot of deliveries.

Since it’s a contract job, seller support associates tend to make a little more than their customer support counterparts. Some estimates put their hourly earnings at around $17 to $19.
What are the Benefits?
If it’s a contract job that only lasts six months, working as a seller support associate probably won’t come with any benefits. However, if it transitions into a full-time position or Amazon plans to renew the contract, you may be able to negotiate health care and retirement benefits. Things like vacation time or paid time off may already be in your contract, depending on the time frame.
What Qualifications Do You Need?
Like a customer support associate, there’s not a lot of experience needed for this role. Amazon may prefer that you already have at least six months of experience working with customers, but that’s not mandatory.
Since you’ll be working online, you will need a phone and a high-speed internet connection. As for location, Amazon isn’t usually picky-you’re usually eligible if you’re located in the US.
Get an Amazon Online Job as a Customer Support Team Manager
If you already have some experience as a customer support associate, you may eventually qualify for the next rung in the ladder: a customer support team manager. The job of a manager is to supervise a group of customer support associates. These groups can range from 15 to 22 employees that you’ll be in charge of.
You may have to handle complaints, deal with issues that a regular associate can’t, or answer questions that your team doesn’t know. Although you’ll be working from your home instead of a traditional office, you’ll still have to make sure everyone is completing their shift, showing up on time, and being productive. You’ll be providing less customer support and more “employee support,” so if you’re a people person, this type of work could be a good fit for you.
One thing that does separate this job from other Amazon online remote jobs is that there probably will be some travel. You might need to travel regionally for business events, but day-to-day operations should take place at your home.

Being a manager might come with a little more stress and responsibility, but it also comes with a nice pay increase, too. Some estimates put the annual salary at around $50,000 with some room for stock or cash bonuses.
What are the Benefits?
As a manager, you’ll get all the benefits you would as a regular customer support associate. There’s a 401(k), vacation time, health insurance, and PTO. Almost all team manager jobs are full-time, with some of these employees working more than 40 hours a week. So, if you’re only looking for a part-time online gig, this might not be the right choice.
What Qualifications Do You Need?
Like most managerial positions, Amazon asks that you have at least two years of experience managing a team of employees. You’ll also need a Bachelor’s Degree of some sort, familiarity with Microsoft Office, and a separate home office. Amazon may need to approve your home office setup.
Other than experience and a degree, there will probably be some location requirements. While the team you manage will be virtual and remote, you’ll probably all be located in the same country or even the same region. If you plan to work in another country, like France or Italy, you may need to be bilingual. On top of speaking English fluently, you’ll need to speak the country’s native tongue well, too.
Do Fast Jobs Online With Amazon Mechanical Turk
When you hear people talking about working for Amazon online or “doing tasks” for Amazon, they’re probably talking about mTurk. Since 2005, Amazon has been hiring people to complete virtual tasks that require human intelligence.
This could be anything from identifying an object in a photo, transcribing audio, or even researching data details. Many mTurk workers pick these tasks out of a queue, so you don’t have to complete anything you don’t want to. Most of them only take a few minutes too, so you could complete them in a waiting room, while you’re watching TV, or when you’re bored.
You can avoid tasks you don’t want, and there’s no risk of losing your account if you don’t sign on one day. There’s also no supervisor or manager to report to and no specific number of tasks that you need to hit per day or week (in fact, Amazon may only set a maximum number of tasks that you can do per day).
With all this flexibility comes one downside: You don’t make a lot of money at it. In fact, I’d say that signing up for mTurk might be good for pocket change or a little extra cash, but it’s far from a part-time job, let alone a full-time job. It’s not the kind of money you can rely on to pay the bills, and Amazon doesn’t guarantee that you’ll get any work at all.

There isn’t an hourly rate for mTurk workers. Since you’re paid by the task, your income depends on how many tasks you’re able to complete and how fast you can do them. Some tasks pay more than others, but they also get snatched up quickly. One study from 2018 found that the average mTurk worker makes about $2/hour, and only the top earners were able to make $7.25/hour.
What are the Benefits?
The only benefit you’ll get working for mTurk is flexibility in your hours. Because you’re considered an “independent contractor” and not an Amazon employee, you won’t receive health care or paid time off.

There are very few qualifications to work for mTurk. As long as you’ve got a bank account and an email address, you can make an account on their website. You’ll also have to disclose your location, but there are thousands of mTurk workers spread across the globe.
Once you sign up, you’ll have to wait for Amazon to approve your account, which can take up to 30 days if there’s a lot of other mTurk job seekers.

You don’t need to drive a delivery truck or hang out in an Amazon warehouse to earn money through Amazon.
