If you want to make extra cash these days, it’s never been easier to start a new side hustle these days.

I’ve been testing out different ways to make money on the side for years. In fact, since my college days, I’ve probably tried 50 to 100+ different money-making ideas to try and find the best ones.

But a lot of side hustles can take way too long to pay. And that’s why this post is covering some of the best side hustles that pay weekly so you can get money quickly when you need it most.

The Best Side Hustles That Pay Weekly

When it comes to side jobs that pay weekly, many involve using in-person gig apps. In contrast, some are digital side hustles you can do from the comfort of your own home. Think about your own skills and interests and then choose one or more of these hustles and get to work!

1. Freelance Writing

Out of all the side hustles that pay weekly, freelancing writing is one of my favorites. And it’s also the side hustle I’ve made the most money with during the last couple of years.

For the last few years, freelance writing has been how I’ve made most of my income. It’s also the way I was able to quit my job, begin traveling the world as a nomad, making money with my laptop as I go.

From Lions Head hike in Cape Town, South Africa last year.

What I like about freelance writing is that many clients pay you per article. So, if you finish an article in a day or two from when it’s assigned, you can get paid weekly with whatever payment processing system you and your client agree on.

For me, this looks like regular PayPal cash and bank transfers from my writing clients. I also pay the writers at This Online World via PayPal every week.

The downside of freelance writing is that it takes time to find clients and steady work. However, you can begin your search on various remote job sites or by finding easy jobs on Upwork and Fiverr.

Asking your network is also a great starting point. I’ve actually found some of my best writing clients from friends and on LinkedIn, so don’t be afraid to put yourself out there.

2. Survey Taker

I’ve been testing cash survey websites ever since I began phone farming in college. And during the last few years, I’ve used and reviewed dozens of gpt sites to find the ones that actually pay.

Some of my favorite survey and reward websites include:

Branded Surveys website

Of course, you can’t earn a full-time income with any of these sites. But making $5 to $20 a day in your spare time is easy, and these sites can pay daily or weekly.

3. Food Delivery Gigs

Food delivery gigs have several advantages. For one, they let you work on your own schedule and are flexible. Plus, most delivery gigs pay you weekly for the previous week of deliveries you complete.

Some of my favorite delivery apps to make money with include:

The main downside to these driving gigs is that you have to pay for your own gas and vehicle wear-and-tear. But you can also deliver on a bike or on foot in many markets.

4. Blogging

Like freelance writing, blogging is also how I make a lot of my income these days. I began blogging at This Online World in 2018, and last year, I made $272,000 by blogging.

My blog makes most of its income from Mediavine display ads and affiliate marketing. And the best part is that a lot of the income is passive income from posts I wrote years ago that still get views and generate revenue.

Affiliate marketing can also be incredibly lucrative. These days, This Online World makes 50k a month, with many days earning $1,000 a day or more from just affiliate sales alone.

It took a long time to get here, and this is the main downside of blogging. However, many blog affiliate programs or deals can pay you weekly. And you can also use a blog to sell your own physical and digital products, or things like coaching.

5. Play Games For Money

Did you know it’s possible to play video games and make money at the same time?

That’s right: these days, plenty of apps pay you for playing games. This lets you turn your weekly playtime into an opportunity to earn cash and gift cards. Some of my favorite apps in this space include:

Blitz Win Cash app

These apps won’t pay you a full-time income. But if you already spend time playing games you might as well get paid!

6. Microtask Sites

If you want to earn money online and get paid weekly, microtask sites are another excellent option to consider.

These types of online jobs that pay weekly are incredibly beginner-friendly and let people from around the world make money. And you can usually get paid via PayPal or direct deposit every single week.

Some of my favorite microtask sites that I’ve tested or researched in the past include:

At the end of the day, sites like Clickworker, Appen, and any of these micro jobs won’t make you rich. However, you don’t need any skills to sign up and make money. And these side hustles pay weekly and pay you with actual cash, not gift cards.

7. Dog Walking Gigs

This side hustle is something many of my friends did during college and afterwards to make money. And it’s a nice way to get paid to walk while spending time with some furry friends.

Plus, you can make your life simple by using gig apps like Rover to find clients. Rover helps connect pet owners with qualified walkers and sitters. And I like Rover since you get to set the hours you work, your hourly rates, and the types and sizes of dogs you work with.

Earning $15 to $20 per hour for walking isn’t uncommon. And you can earn even more by offering services like dog boarding or house-sitting. All-in-all, Rover could be an excellent weekend side hustle or after work gig that pays weekly.

8. Cash Odd Jobs

People post all sorts of odd jobs and local cash gigs all the time on marketplaces like Facebook or Craigslist. So, if you’re willing to hustle, you can make some pretty easy money on the side in just a few hours.

I’ve done this by shoveling snow for people in the past. But some other popular odd jobs you see posted all the time include:

  • Cleaning
  • Handyman help
  • Junk removal
  • Landscaping
  • Moving help
  • Painting
  • Tech support
  • Window washing

Tough jobs like moving and landscaping can easily pay $100 to $200 a day or even more. And these are often same day pay jobs, which is even better than getting paid weekly.

9. Deliver Packages For Money

Like food delivery gigs, delivering packages for money is another popular gig you can try.

Now, you definitely need a decent vehicle like a sedan, cargo van, van, or truck for this side hustle. But if you have a decently-sized vehicle and don’t mind driving, you can make pretty decent money on the side.

Some of the top package delivery gigs include:

CitizenShipper

If you don’t have one, my post on the best side hustles without a car is a better resource.

10. Other Freelancing Hustles

Writing is far from the only skill you can sell to make regular income. Examples of other freelancing gigs that pay weekly or even daily include:

  • Accounting and bookkeeping
  • Digital marketing
  • Graphic design work
  • Email marketing
  • Proofreading and editing
  • SEO
  • Social media management
  • Website design
  • Video editing

Again, finding your first clients can take time, so this isn’t the best weekly pay side hustle if you need quick money today. But if you’re willing to grow your portfolio and client list over time freelancing can be quite lucrative.

11. Social Media Management

Do you have a knack for major social media platforms and a love of content creation? If the answer is yes, another side job that pays weekly worth trying is social media management.

My friends and I made money in college by running Facebook ads and Instagram accounts for two local furniture businesses. And in my experience, you can usually get paid weekly or monthly with this side hustle.

Social media management is also a lot of fun. You basically get paid to play with platforms like Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram to drive more visitors and customers to your client’s business.

12. Event Photography

If you have a knack for photography, one fun side hustle that pays weekly is event photography.

A few people I know did this during school and were photographers for local bars and clubs during events. And you can usually make a few hundred dollars per event.

In fact, according to Expert Photography, event photographers can charge $150 to $500 per hour depending on their clients and skills. You generally get paid in cash as well, so you’re getting paid the same day or that week.

13. Retail Arbitrage

Retail arbitrage involves buying popular merchandise and then flipping it for a profit. People generally buy popular items like books, apparel, shoes, toys, electronics, and beauty products so there’s a high sales volume for their inventory.

I actually interviewed a retail arbitrage couple who run a million-dollar Amazon FBA retail arbitrage business if you want more information about how the process works.

A snapshot of their amazon FBA revenue for the last 30 days.

They’re pulling in over 20k a month in profit from their business. And again, they buy and sell simple products like clothing, home goods, and everyday essentials.

To get paid weekly, you could experiment with buying and flipping products online. Amazon FBA isn’t the only option either; marketplaces like eBay and local selling sites like FB Marketplace also work well for flipping money.

14. Virtual Assistant Work

Do you have excellent organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail? If you do, then another great side hustle that pays weekly you can try is becoming a virtual assistant.

Virtual assistants, or VAs, help their clients with tasks like:

  • Appointment scheduling
  • Administrative tasks
  • Event scheduling
  • Social media management
  • Travel arrangements

Many bloggers and online business owners hire VAs. You can often get paid weekly or monthly from your clients, and hourly pay is around $10 to $25 per hour depending on the work you do.

15. Online Tutoring

Students and parents hire tutors all the time. And thanks to the Internet, there are so many online tutoring gigs these days, so you can make money from the comfort of your own home.

Several leading tutoring platforms that help you find clients include:

  • BookNook: This company pays U.S. tutors to instruct English and math.
  • Cambly: One of the most popular tutoring platforms in the world.
  • QKids: A reputable platform that pays you to tutor English online.

Hourly pay for online tutors is often in the $15 to $20 range. And many companies pay incentives the more lessons you teach per month. Weekly payments are also common via direct deposit or PayPal cash.

16. Airbnb Host

One passive side hustle that pays weekly you can try is to become an Airbnb host.

Hosting a spare room or entire unit on Airbnb is an excellent way to make decent money on the side each week. If you live in a popular tourist area, you can easily get $100 to $200+ per night depending on how nice your rental is.

Make-money-with-AirBnB

Airbnb also releases payments to you 24 hours after guests check in. So, this gig does pay weekly. And you can turn it into an autopilot cash gig if you outsource rental management and cleaning.

17. Start An At-Home Business

If you’re feeling creative, you can try launching your own at-home business and selling stuff to people in your city.

When I was in school, my neighbor did this by making and selling custom wooden birdhouses to people at flea markets. There are plenty of other things you can make and sell as well, including:

  • Baked goods
  • Bath products
  • Cakes
  • Candles
  • Clothing
  • Gift baskets
  • Jewelry
  • Welded gifts
  • Wooden gifts

Flea markets or farmer’s markets can be a great option for finding customers depending on what you’re selling. You can also try selling stuff on local apps like OfferUp or Facebook Marketplace.

18. Etsy Seller

Etsy is one of the best places to sell vintage and handmade goods. And it’s also one side hustle I tried in college when I wanted to sell meme merchandise on Etsy with my print on demand store.

I like Etsy since setting up your shop is basically free; you just pay $0.20 per item you list to sell. And Etsy pays sellers weekly right to your bank account.

19. Website Tester

These user-testing gigs pay you with free PayPal money for testing new apps and websites and giving your feedback. They’re free to sign up for, and you generally earn $10 to $15 per short test you complete.

Several testing gigs I’ve tried and suggest include:

PlaytestCloud

Overall, these testing gigs are a great way to earn money online as a beginner since you don’t need experience. And you also get paid weekly from a lot of these companies with real money.
