As for gameplay, Pool Payday is basically just virtual pool. There are some nuances, like trick shots or sinking a ball in a specific pocket to earn bonus points, but the gameplay is pretty simple and enjoyable.
Some of the different game modes you can play include:
- Practice Games: Pay Z coins to play practice games for fun against other players.
- Head-To-Head Matches: Pay small cash entry fees to compete for larger cash prize pools against players of a similar skill.

I tested out Pool Payday and could sign up and begin playing games. Overall, the app is fun to use, although it’s not the best side hustle if you don’t want to compete in paid tournament matches.
How Much Does Pool Payday Pay?
Pool Payday games can pay anywhere from a few dollars to $45 or even more depending on the tournament. How much games pay largely depends on the buy-in fee and how well you perform.
As you can see in my screenshot below, two of the paid games I can enter pay out $8 and $1 to the winners. One of the games is a bracket game, the other is head-to-head, and each game charges a small entry fee to participate.
There are also plenty of practice games at a given time. But again, these just pay you with Z coins and aren’t too lucrative.
Tournaments pop-up all the time, so there’s always an opportunity to make quick money with this app. However, the free games that pay Z coins to winners barely pay, so it takes a lot of free playing to ever earn real money.
Who Can Use Pool Payday?
Pool PayDay is available on both Apple and Android devices. It used to be available on Samsung devices as well but isn’t always on the Samsung app store.
Signing up is completely free, and you just pick an username and avatar once you launch the app. You have to be 17 or older to use the app. However, you must be 18 or older to enter cash tournaments. Additionally, like many real money games, Pool Payday cash games aren’t available in the following states:

- Delaware
- Illinois
- Indiana
- Louisiana
- Maine
- Montana
- South Carolina
- South Dakota

Free play is still available in these states, however cash play is prohibited.
